OK, if you are like me and work from home, you can probably relate to how fast clutter can build up around your work station. My desk is the all around command center in our home. I manage my thoughts, meal planning, household finances, and even arts and craft! So, having an organized area allows me to execute all of my task quickly and effortless.
I gathered up a few tips I use in our home. I pray it provides you with a blueprint to start your organizing process.
SCAN ALL DOCUMENTS
A great way to reduce the paper clutter on your desk is to scan and backup important documents to a storage device. This will eliminate having tons of papers and receipts around or stuffed in folders. This will also allow you to organize your documents into virtual folders that you can easily access.
ENROLL IN PAPERLESS STATEMENTS
I absolutely live by this. Not only will this keep your from potential identity fraud, but it eliminates paper coming into your home. If you have the option to enroll in receiving your bills, bank statements, notices or any other documents via email; Go ahead and enroll! This will also cut your scanning time in half since you can upload those documents directly to your virtual storage.
KEEP ONLY THE NECESSARY OFFICE SUPPLIES
Find your favorite pens, writing pads, and pencils and stick with those items. Replace those items only when you have completely used them up.
TIP: Do your best to stay away from the stationary aisles (Do not get suckered into buying office supplies!).
USE A VISUAL WALL PLANNER
This will allow your desk to stay free from any additional notebooks, planners, and of course paper! This also reduce the need to buy a planners every year. Thus, keeping more money in your pocket. #winning!
KEEP DESK DECOR SIMPLE
My go to decor are always plants. However, if you want to make it a little more personal, one family picture is a great visual to have. if possible, place it on a shelf or hang it up.
